Sharon is a member of Canada’s much loved trio of family entertainers, Sharon, Lois & Bram. For over 20 years they have been entertaining families across North America. Through their touring, their fifteen gold and platinum albums, their acclaimed television series The Elephant Show and their new television series Skinnamarink TV, the trio has sung its way into the hearts and homes of young and old alike.

Loved for their warmth and wit on stage, they have extended their caring and concern for children and their families far beyond the footlights. As ambassadors for UNICEF, they have worked to draw attention to the plight of disadvantaged children around the world. They were honoured again by Mount Saint Vincent University with the degree "Doctor of Humane Letters."

Sharon is a two-time breast cancer survivor and has been active in the breast cancer community since 1993. She was Honourary Chair of the Breast Diagnostic Centre Campaign at North York General Hospital, which opened in October ’97. The Breast Diagnostic Centre provides a diagnostic fast-track where women with suspected breast disease can get quick, compassionate care and a treatment plan in one visit.

Sharon is also the founding president of Willow, the Breast Cancer Support & Resource Services. Willow is a province-wide resource centre whose goal is to provide compassionate support and timely, accessible information to women dealing with a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Sharon Hampson has been surrounded by music all her life. Having grown up with the songs of politically and socially active artists, she remains personally committed to issues of social justice.
